C&G Bird Rescue and Adoption Services

No bird goes without in our home!

NO Bird Willl Be Turned Away

Although we mainly deal with the smaller birds, we will never turn a bird in need away. We have experience with every type of bird that is domesticated. We just prefer to work with the smaller breeds. Each bird when being relinquished will become the sole property of C&G Bird Rescue And Adoption Services upon signing of the relinquishment form. Each owner will be asked to fill out four forms for each bird and this information will be used in the process of trying to make sure each bird receives the necessary vet care, taming methods, and any other diet changes that may be necessary when taking in this bird to find it's forever home. These forms will include:

  • Veterinary and medical records
  • Diet and Personality History
  • Grooming Records
  • Relinquishment Form/Relinquishment Policies (Previous owner will receive a copy and one will be on fil with us.)

We ask that each bird be brought to us in their cage from home with any toys, food or other items that will make the transition smoother for them. Once they have adjusted to their new surroundings, have gone thru the standard 24 day quarantine and had a complete check up by our avian vet then they shall slowly be moved to their new permanent cage which will go woth them to their new owner. If you need us to pick up the bird there will be a small charge of $1.25 per mile to pick up the bird as this helps cover fuel expenses. Please remember that we are non for profit and do not make any money on the services we provide. We do not allow shipment of birds as it is too dangerous for the bird.

Certain birds are not adoptable due to circumstances beyond our control. Some of these would be but does not limit them to:

  • aggrssive behavior they can not be tamed out of
  • Old age (to old to be re-homed as it would be too traumatic)
  • Any behavior that can not be tamed out of them such as screaming, plucking or biting.
  • Other issues which may put the bird at risk to itself or others..
  • Birds with such tendancies would remain in our care until they pass on their own of old age. If it is an illness then they will be treated until it becomes to painful for them and they will be put to sleep by our vet when every effort to keep gthem comfortable has failed and we shall cremate them and keep theri ashes here in our birdie cemetary.
